3 Ways to Save Money on Travel Bookings
I have some time today! So grab a seat. Wait! You'll also need a note pad, pen (or pencil), and scooch a little closer! Why? I'm going to share a skee-taste of my travel booking hacks. These hacks or should I say tips, help me save money and get more bang for my buck.
You ready? I said are you ready?!
1. Add Honey to Your Web Browser.
Honey is browser extension that automatically find and apply coupons at checkout with a single click.
2. Do your research!
In some cases it is drastically cheaper to book the hotel directly from the company's site. This isn't always the case. So this route takes some patience, because number crunching and research may be involved. I've run into the following scenarios: the hotel room is cheaper booking directly or the hotel appears to be more expensive booking directly. What do I mean? The stay may seem more expensive, but you should always check the offerings. These include welcome gifts, room upgrades, resort credits, and free memberships. Most hotel and resort brands offer free memberships. All you have to do is sign up and start reaping the benefits. This is how I ended up with a private hot tub on my balcony, amongst other FREE perks. It really is a great way to unlock savings. My point is the room may appear to be more expensive booking directly versus through a third party site. However, if you're able to snag any of the above offerings, you may end up saving money or getting more than you bargained for.
3. Do the Work.
I know package deals are way more convenient than doing scouring the internet looking for deals. Who doesn't want the headache taken out of trip planning? I will admit, it's way easier to book an all inclusive package. This option takes care of you accommodations, flights, ground transportation, etc. in one click. Just know, I've save more money than I can count by booking trips a la carte.
Alright, that's all you get today. There are so many more travel hacks I'm going to share, but this is a great place to start!
