4 Tips for Planning Trips during COVID
With everything going on in the world, travel as we know it is constantly in flux. It can be overwhelming and borderline anxiety inducing to imagine traveling right now, let alone executing a thoughtfully planned trip that checks ✅ all of the boxes. Just know it can be done. And if you're going to do it, you might as well do it right! Today, I'm sharing 4 tips for planning a trip during COVID.
1. Be flexible.
The travel industry i.e. traveling as we know it is in flux right now. Airlines are cancelling flights, moving flights times, etc. without much notice, travel restrictions are continuously being updated and so are the rules around travel requirements. Did I mention restaurants and attractions haven’t been doing the best job updating their sites? If you’re traveling, take a deep breath and don’t let these hiccups derail you. #EasierSaidThanDone
2. Have an emergency stash.
Airlines are cancelling flights, which means you could be forced to spend extra to cover a new ticket, hotel, food, etc. Also, countries like Mexico have increased prices due to the increase in tourism. These changes are literally occurring overnight. Don’t land and realize you’re a day late and a dollar short!
3. Visit CDC.gov.
Check out the CDC’s website for up to date info regarding traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic, travel notices, and emergency preparedness tips.
4. Know what’s happening locally.
Check your state’s COVID site for information regarding testing, travel restrictions and advisories. This is key so you know what’s expected upon your return and/or which places have been deemed “safe” to visit.
I know this is a lot, but remember you can always stay local. Check out the gems in your neighborhood, hop in the car for a weekend getaway, or keep it cute with a staycation!
