ATV Experience: Breakdown for Novice Riders (New Jersey)
I don’t know who gave me the key, but I’m GONE! In all seriousness, this was my first time riding an ATV and I was nervous. Chillllle, I kept thinking to myself, what if I suck?...I'm here to report back that it was easy, peasy!
We booked our reservation through NJ ATV Rentals located in Englishtown, NJ. A reservation is required! If the date you want is not available, try giving them a call. They may be able to accommodate you.
Our reservation was for an hour. There was a brief orientation/introduction to demonstrate how to start the vehicle. We then completed a quick practice run / training course before hitting the trail.
We were the only two in our group led by a member from the staff. There were larger groups, groups with co-riders/passengers, and children. Check the website for more information regarding the company policy.
Be sure to wear long pants and closed toe shoes. They recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt too. Make sure all of your items are secure in your pockets. I put all of my items in a fanny pack. Last, but not least...depending on the time of year you go, wear gloves. Oh, and you may want to wear sunglasses or goggles of some type. The wind was kicking the day we went.
Here's a list of things I feel are a must for your ATV experience:
Happy riding & I'll see you on the trail!
